Compliments of the season. I hope you all had a blessed Christmas time and I pray that the year 2010 will usher in new business possibilities for HIS glory.

I am originally from Bombay,India but I have set up base in Bratislava, Slovakia, in the heart of Europe.It is only 50 km from Vienna , the capital of Austria.I have been here for the last 13 years. I moved here to take up position in late 1996 in the beautiful city of Prague in the Czech Republic.From there I took up position for the same company in the adjacent country of the Slovak Republic and I have been here ever since then. After working for 11 years as Director of a very large Textile and Clothing importing firm, I have decided to work for myself and by God's grace,I am satisfied. I also hold the franchisee of Aptech-India for the whole of Europe, with first right of refusal.I also teach part time in the MBA program for the City University of Seattle's sites in Europe.I have developed a lot of contacts in this region and have many companies here who would like to expand their territorial business in India and the Far East.I speak Czech and Slovak languages as well.

My business interest is many fold as I can only represent companies from here and develop business for them in India. Unlike companies from Western Europe, products made in CEE like Slovakia are of the same quality, provide even better after sale services for less cost. Major Western European companies in fact get their work done in these countries as labor here is relatively cheaper ( for the moment) as compared to their own countries. So getting products directly from here saves cost and these countries also want to prove a point as emerging nations in the world markets.Slovakia is one of the most promising economies of the new breed of European countries, which broke free from the old communist regime in 1989.Entering the EU in 2004, they were the first country in the new block to adopt the Euro currency in 2009.They are also a part of the new Schengen group of European countries. It has the most number of cars manufactured per capita in the whole of Europe with around 900,000 cars being manufactured by VW, Puegot and KIA motors.Though the installed capacity is a bit more .

Coming back to the main topic. I am undertaking a business consultancy project for a very prominent glass factory with over 100 years of tradition behind it. It is RONA a.s. They produce glass for the Hotel, Catering and Restaurant industries.With two massive manufacturing sites and over 600 workers , they are well equipped to handle even the complex of jobs within the scope of their segment.Their exports cover Western Europe,apart from the domestic CEE markets and also have an established distribution network in the USA/Canada too. For the Middle East they export through dealer network and now want to target India as an big consuming emerging market with taste and style too.You can have a peep into their website please for more details.It is www.rona.sk.When I was discussing with them about some plans, they mentioned that they want to enter the Indian market with a very strong serious partner who has already an established network.

We are looking for partners/ joint projects/ business developing & combined marketing strategies/technology transfer/ distribution and after sales service networks and any other area where we could join hands OR simply undertake confirmed orders for exports into INDIA.However, I would like to get in touch with people/companies of standing and repute willing to work and develop business.We could even plan a visit of potential business partners under the auspices of the Indian/Slovak embassy.This is at the moment targeted for April-May 2010.I also plan to visit India soon.

This is just an example. We have good expertise in wines and other products,water treatment plants etc.Some modern companies with long term experience in the area of design and projection of water management works and systems including complex services for water and waste management would also be interested in India.Good Quality Wine exports into India is also a promising area.

There seem to a lot of business opportunities for Slovaks to do business in India. What about the other way? what are the business opportunities for Indians to supply to Slovakia?

What are the major industries in slovakia.
what are their strengths..besides water management that you mentioned and course ..cars!

Knowing the same, allows one to understand what we do not have out here in india... and then network further.
